Mariam (27, mother of two) is one of the graduates and beneficiaries of Caring Hands Youth Livelihood Program Entrepreneurship Training. She attended every single class and ended up getting high marks. She now has her own clothing boutique, selling women’s and children’s attire.
“I’m so grateful for the support I have been given by the Caring Hands program,” Mariam told our facilitators. Now she has the capacity to provide for her family: pay water and electricity bills, get health care and buy clothing and food. “My life and my business has changed. It will never be the same,” Mariam stated with a broad smile on her face.

Mariam has also joined a Village Savings and Loans Association group where she is able to save part of her profits and invest more to develop her business.
Caring Hands is committed to contribute to the development of our community. We focus on improving the well–being of the most vulnerable members by empowering them through training. This gives them the opportunity of independence. Mariam is an example of what happens when women are empowered through training and become self–reliant.
